Cat toys are popular because cats, and in particular kittens like to play and have fun. There are so many different toys to choose from whether they be laser cat toys, cat teaser toys, Barbie cat toys, plush toys and battery operated toys. Toys with feathers, and in particular anything that makes sound and moves around is sure to be a winner with your cat but always inspect a toy before you give it to your cat to make sure that there is nothing that can break loose and come off in the cat’s mouth and choke it. Some manufacturers of cat toys don’t always take these considerations in mind when they create cat toys.
Wholesale cat toys and discount cat toys are always good as long as they are safe as the price you pay does not really tell you a whole lot about whether the cat will enjoy the toy or not. Cats love balls as cat toys because they roll and bounce. Most balls used as cat toys are made of sponge, plastic or rubber. Some have a material in them that registers a sound when the ball moves.
Battery operated toy mice are sure to excite your cat and are those that contain catnip. Always check to make sure that the tail on a catnip mouse made of a ropelike or knitted material is securely affixed as most cats enjoy biting and pulling on this part of the toy. Fur toy mice are other cat toys that are well loved by felines and some come with a stand that is connected to a spring which encourages even more fun and adventure.
Fish rods are cat toys that are made of plastic and look very much like fishing rods. These have a small toy on the end that acts as bait. Many cats will get hours of enjoyment out of playing with fish rod cat toys. Kittybird toys are also popular with cats and some cats are likely to carry their cat toys around the house with them, some going as far as to take them to bed with them.
Another option is to make your own cat toys and/or become aware of the unique kinds of toys that cats enjoy. Cats love to play with straws, pens, fridge magnets, paper towel rolls and they enjoy pulling toilet paper from the dispenser and watching it roll to the ground before shredding it. Some cats like to shred Kleenex but be careful that your feline friend does not eat any cat toy and make himself or herself ill.
